11 millions of Iraqis voted in parliamentarian election More than 11 millions out of 15 millions of citizens voted at parliamentarian election, which was held on December 15 in Iraq.

Therefore, as Iraqi Central election committee supposes, attendance of election is more than 70%.

Attendance was so high in some election centers that there was deficit of ballots, and terms of voting were prolonged for an hour.

USA president George Bush called Iraqi election, which passed in relatively calm atmosphere, as a huge step towards democracy. It should be mentioned that large amount of Arab-Sunnites, who boycotted last election in January 2005, participated in current voting. In opinion of White House, this is a sign that rebel movement begins to decline.

Iraqi Election center doesn`t have any tentative results of voting. Final results will be declared within several weeks.

6655 candidates from 307 political parties and 19 coalitions struggle for 275 seats in Iraqi National Assembly.
