"More than 100 km of chemical spot has already passed Komsomolsk-Na Amure town", - informed the source.

Rescuers and local authorities conduct complex of preventive measures to protect citizens of Habarovsky krai during passing of pollution zone along Amur. The municipal enterprise "Vodokanal" of Komsomolsk-na Amure is provided with activated coal for tap water purification. Mobile groups watch closely for local people not to fish in Amur, where regular monitoring of water quality is made.

On November 13 an explosion took place at chemical plant in Tsilin town. As a result of emergency more than 100 tons of benzene and other toxic compounds got into Sungari river, flowing into Amur.

Russian and Chinise People`s Republic took appropriate measures for reduction of accident`s consequences. In China water was discharged from reserves to Sungari river. This step allowed diluting of toxic spot and reduction of chemical compounds` concentration.
