The Parliament of Moldova ratified the agreement on Association with the EU. This became known on July 2 after the session of the Parliament of Moldova.

At the meeting, all the members of the Moldovan Parliament almost unanimously voted for the ratification of the agreement on Association with the European Union. For the main voting convened a special meeting, which was counting of votes,59 deputies voted for the ratification, as against only four.

38 deputies from the party of Communists and the "Revival"party, took protest the decision to leave the meeting room of the Parliament and categorically refuse to participate voting because they opposed the agreement with the EU. During the debates the MPs of the parliamentary majority several times emphasized that the document is not aimed against Russia and is not prevent the continuation of friendly relations with the CIS States.

Providence Moldova considers that the Republic in the nearest time required to gain a clear perspective of EU membership, said in Parliament the President Nikolai Timofti and Prime Minister Iurie Leanca. "After the ratification of the agreement the next major step for Moldova must be a concrete prospects of EU membership. The time has come for the people of Moldova lived the way he wants, and not by outsiders scenarios. We are determined to move towards Europe, for the people of Moldova are worthy of living like other European Nations," - quoted Timofti "Interfax".
