Moldavia to pay $110 for Russian gas in first quarter Moldavia and Gazprom have come to agreement - price for gas will amount to $100 for 1000 cubic meter in first quarter of 2006.

"Gazprom and Moldavia have signed treaty on transit and supply of natural gas to Moldavian Republic", - announced official representative of Gazprom Sergey Kupriyanov.

By his words, meeting of Gazprom president Aleksey Miller and Moldavian first vice-premier Zinaida Grechany took place in central office of Gazprom on Monday.

"During negotiations sides managed to find mutually acceptable decisions in all main aspects of co-operation in gas sphere. In first quarter of current year Russian gas will be supplied to Moldavia at price of $110 for 1000 cubic meters", - informed Kupriyanov.

"At the same moment agreements about activity of mutual Moldavian-Russian enterprise Moldovagas, intensive Russian participation in gas transport system of Moldavian republic and preservation of its structural unity have been achieved. Further negotiations about price policy will continue with consideration of current agreements", - emphasized he.

By data of Gazprom, 2.45 milliards cubic meters of gas were supplied to Moldavian consumers in 2005.

Debt of Moldavian consumers for supplies amounts to $780 millions, including $560 millions - to Dnestr region.

Administration of Moldavian president estimated negotiations with Moscow as "productive and constructive".

Moldavian president Vladimir Voronin emphasized that "achieved agreement is not only triumph of pragmatism but of transparency".

Voronin also noted importance of direct contracts with Gazprom. "We think that it is right to buy gas from producers", - said the leader of Moldavian state.
