Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the federal Act "About special economic zone in Kaliningrad region and about alterations in some legislative acts of the Russian Federation"

The act was passed by State Duma on December 23, 2005 and was ratified by Federal Council on December 27.

The experts note, that the act is established in order to provide further economical development of Kaliningrad region and succession of special regime, implemented by the Act of January 22, 1996 "About special economic zone in Kaliningrad region"

In particular, in the framework of federal act, the problems of recognition of legal person a residence of special economical zone, special custom regime operation, taxation and currency control in special economic zone, as well as particular features of entering In Kaliningrad region, leaving Kaliningrad region and sojourn on its territory.
