explaining the message of the Finnish media about the possible suspension of cooperation with the Russian Federation, Stubb wrote: " it Seems that the discussion of possible sanctions in the media too is blown, we need to exercise restraint ".

in 2009 Russia and the EU signed the agreement about financing of the five cross-border cooperation programmes. Participate in the programmes, for example, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. The total budget of the program amounts to 437 million euros. As underlined by Yle, in the framework of the seven-year programme Finland must gain 200 million Euro for development cooperation with Russia, and among them in the field of education.

on Wednesday in Brussels is hosting the summit of the EU countries. One of the key issues on the agenda will be the situation in Ukraine and fresh punishment for Russia. Before the conference on 27 June, the European Council issued an ultimatum threatening Russia's new sanctions in the absence of specific measures to de-escalate the situation.
