Russian Federal Migration Service has suggested canceling permission for work in Russia for those foreigners who work for representative offices of foreign companies. The acting chief of Foreign Migration Administration of Federal Migration Service Sergei Boldarev.

According to amendments to the law "About foreign citizens legal status on the territory of the Russian Federation", for foreign employees of such companies permission for work is not needed anymore. Totally, it concerns 10 thousand companies, most of which are not engaged in economical activity, but perform mostly representative functions. Permission for work cancellation does not apply to other companies.

Besides, obligation to pay in pecuniary compensation, which a company must deposit, in the case that the foreigner would have to be deported from the country, is planned to be canceled for all companies, involving foreign specialists employment. At present, this compensation norm amounts to a thousand dollars.

The future law supposes to replace the compensation norm by obligation imposed on a company to make sure that the company employmee leaves the country on expiration date of work permission. Otherwise the company may be made administratively responsible.

Earlier, foreign companies had to receive permission for their employees working in representative offices, indicating the head office as an employers, which caused delays in documents drawing up.
