One miner died, another has got injuries as a result of methane explosion at mine "Tomskaya" in Mezhdurechensk town of Kemerov oblast.

As policeman on duty informed, an explosion occurred at 02:30 by Moscow time and was followed by fire. 45 miners were in pit-face at that moment. Rescuers managed to help 43 people out.

As a result of search operation one miner was found with injuries of head and burns, he was hospitalized. One miner died. Injured miner stays in reanimation in extremely severe state. "The patient has a combined trauma: burn of upper air passages, fracture of ribs and
brain contusion", - reported head doctor of central city hospital of Mezhdurechensk Victor Kornev.

Special committee investigates the cause of the incident.
