Mayors of London, Paris, Berlin and Moscow accepted declaration on climate The mayors of London, Paris, Berlin and Moscow accepted the joint declaration about the fight with climate variation.

As they reported in the press-service of the city hall of London the document is approved by the mayors of four largest European capitals at their yearly meeting which passes in Berlin this year.

"The declaration proposed by the mayor of London was approved by four mayors, which were obligated to work together with the purpose of reduction in the ejections of greenhouse gases and to be adapted to weather changes, which implies the global warming" they noted in the press-service.

In the declaration it is noted that "climate variation on the planet is one of the most serious calls which requires the pressing and coordinated actions at all levels". The declaration will be coordinated with the positions of the Kyoto protocol, and its positions will be also considered in the work of the group of 20 largest cities of the world.

Sides were obligated to achieve highly effective programs on the acceleration of investments into the reduction in the ejections of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, to exchange experience and knowledge in the sphere of urban ecology, to track regularly the progress in this sphere at the meetings of "the four" and the leaders of 20 largest cities of the world and also the number of other measures.

"The large cities answered for three fourths of all harmful ejections into the atmosphere in 2005, and they will have to inject innovations for dealing with the climatic changes" emphasized the mayor of London Ken Livingston. He noted the necessity for collaboration in this sphere with the leaders of the large cities of the USA and China.

The mayor of the British capital declared at the meeting in Berlin that London will assume the sitting of four mayors in 2007 and invited as the honorable guest the mayor of Peking.
