The Russian Federation has made a decision to prepare the address to the chairman of the Russian Government about providing safe operation of dwelling, social and industrial buildings in connection with Basmanny market roof collapse in Moscow.

State Duma supported appropriate protocol commission to the committee of industry, construction and high-end technologies by the deputy of "United Russia" frsction Vyacheslav Shport.

The committee is charged to prepare the draft resolution "about addressing to the chairman of the Russian Government M.E. Fradkov about urgent measures on providing safety of health and living of the citizens at operation of dwelling, social and industrial buildings and constructions".

State Duma has also decided to charge the committee to make a request to Russian federal environmental, engineering & nuclear supervision agency, the Russian Emergency Ministry, and other federal executive power agencies for information about measures being made for prevention of spontaneous collapse of dwelling, social and industrial buildings and constructions, and for providing safety for people.

On February 23 2006 in Moscow the roof of Basmanny market collapsed, which lead to the death of several dozens of people.
