Changes in lifestyle and consumers standards of Samara citizens reflect such trends, as continuous active growth of consuming services of public catering (for 20 %), physical training and sports (for 60%), repair and dwelling housing construction (for 30 %), purchasing consumer durables, growth of number of cars, decreasing the share of purchases made on grocery and clothes markets.

This information was revealed at the meeting of the Government of Samara region, which took place on March 2. The results of social-economic development of Samara region for 2005 and priority directions of work in the current year have been worked out, informed Samara government press-service official.

The most important thing is that the number of poor population reduced for 60 thousand people, and the number of pensioners, whose pension is under minimum cost of living, reduced for 43 thousand people.

The Samara region`s index of quality of life of population in the region takes forth position after Tatarstan, Moscow, and Bashkortostan.
