Physics has taught nanoparticles to perform logical operations The team, consisting of four local scientists first created biorobots, who are ready to perform logical operations outside the cell.

Physics from Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod has published the results of their own research in the journal Nature Nanotechnology, the impact factor which is one of the largest in the world and is 33.

The first time scientists have managed to make nano - and microparticles scrupulously to perform a binary operation (logical functions like a "Yes" or "no", "and" or "or") outside the cell by means of biochemical reactions. Previously it was possible to perform only within a living cell using nucleic acids (DNA and RNA).

The particle size was 100 nm and 3 н?m. Implementing logical functions was carried out using the reaction of the outer layer of nanoparticles on the activities of foreign agents. In consequence of the interaction of this agent with him nanoparticles could show their own reactionary features, which were implemented by the execution of logical operations.

Physicists believe that the bio-computers of the future, using logical molecules will find their use in medicine, for example, in tracking blood sugar levels or point liquidating cancer cells.

As described in the press release, are available on the website of the Moscow physico-technical Institute, over the past couple of years this is the 1st experimental work, performed by Russian scientists. As we reported Maxim Nikitin, 1 of the authors of the study, creating nanobionet and subsequent progress in this field of science open up broad prospects for the development of bioelectronics.
