Hollywood loses its main audience Men under 25 years - the main cinema audience - watch less films preferring DVD, video-games and internet.

These are the results of investigation held by Online Testing Exchange company and published on Monday.

Summer cinema season traditionally starting on May, 1 and ending in September is the main period for cinema companies which put 40% of all film production.

In 2005 ticket sales to cinemas equaled to $3.62 milliards which is the lowest rate from 2001. And the amount of sold tickets is the lowest from 1997 - 541 millions of pieces.

Blockbusters of this season became "War of worlds" by Steven Spielberg and "Charley and chocolate factory" by Tim Barton. The failures became action films "Stalls" and "Island".

Young men from 13 to 24 for last summer months watched by 24% less films than in 2003.

Experts came to the conclusion that rise of ticket prices is one of the main reasons of cinema interest reduction.
