Baltic fleet will obtain the submarine of new generation this year. it was reported today at the press conference, dedicated to the 100- anniversary of submarine forces of Russia, the commander of BF Admiral Vladimir Valuyev.

This is the head diesel submarine of a new series "Saint Petersburg", equipped with the technology, having no analogs abroad.

Now its crew together with the representatives of manufacturing plant conducts the complex tests, after completion of which the vessel will join other military equipment of Baltic fleet.

Commander also reported that within the next several years the submarines of the fleet will preserve the present system of dual basing. They will be located in Kronshtadt in summer time, and in winter, when the Gulf of Finland is covered with ice, they will be relocated in Baltiysk.

Baltic fleet commemorates the week of seaman the submariner, dedicated to the anniversary of submarine forces of Russia, founded in 1906 by order of the Sea Department of the Russian Empire.
