The EC plans to increase assistance to Ukraine of 22 million euros
The European Commission plans to allocate an additional twenty-two million euros of assistance to the population affected by the conflict, according to a communiqu? from the Commission.

" The European Commission mobilizes funding in the amount of 22 million euros to help the people of Ukrainian regions that received damage from the effects of conflict. It consists of 2 parts: five million euros of humanitarian aid and ? 17 million development assistance, " reads the press release.

the head of the EC, jos? Manuel Barroso said that " the current ceasefire must be continued and used as an opportunity to ease rules for the needy, most women and children."

The humanitarian part of the payment will be distributed through the proper organization. Funds will be used for accommodation, food, water, medical care and preparation for winter.

Development assistance is provided as part of the list of activities of bilateral cooperation, which is aimed at the promotion of regional development with the assistance of local authorities. Five million euros of humanitarian aid will be allocated in addition to 2, 5 million euros allocated by the EC in the last month of the summer of 2014 to Help those affected on the East of Ukraine.
