The EU considers illegitimate Held elections in Crimea
Vladimir Dobrovolsky. The European Union considers illegitimate past 14 September elections in Crimea, as it does not recognize the annexation of Crimea to Russia, according to a European foreign service (EVS).

" The European Union continues to condemn the illegal annexation of the Autonomous Republic of the Crimea and city of Sevastopol to the Russian Federation and does not recognize it. In connection with the reporting of local elections in Crimea and Sevastopol, we recall that the European Union recognises neither the legal framework nor the legitimacy of these elections, " said the document.

The single day of voting was held on September 14 in 84 out of 85 regions of Russia. In the Crimea was held parliamentary elections and municipal authorities. According to the results of processing 54, 57% of the ballots have overcome the 5% barrier and gain seats in the state Council of the Crimea the first convocation of the two parties: United Russia (71, 4%) and the liberal democratic party (over 8%).

Crimea became a Russian region after the March referendum in which an overwhelming number of residents were in favour of secession from Ukraine and entry into the Russian Federation. The US and EU do not recognize the annexation of Crimea to Russia and accused Moscow of interfering in Ukraine. Russia denies it and calls the accusations are unacceptable.
