Cabinet: Russia will raise duties on goods from Ukraine after the implementation of the Treaty on the Union with the EU
Russia for 10 days from the beginning of the implementation process of the Treaty on unification of Ukraine with the EU will raise duties on Ukrainian goods, according to the decree of the government of the Russian Federation.
" The Russian side has identified a number of items for which there is the greatest risk of negative consequences for Russian producers from using the Treaty of Union ", - said in a statement published on the Internet representation of the government." the report on the introduction of fees will be made by the government of the Russian Federation within 10 days if the Ukrainian government will take action on the practical application of the economic part of the agreement the Union or its implementation ", - is specified in the document. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the European Parliament on 16 September ratified the Association agreement between Kyiv and Brussels, and it must begin to be used from 1 November 2014. However, Russia, Ukraine and the EU agreed that the implementation of the agreement regarding the establishment of the free trade zone will be delayed until 1 January 2016. Throughout the period of execution of this consensus Russia promised not to introduce measures to protect its economy, including import duties on items from Ukraine. The Russian foreign Ministry reported, according to which Moscow hopes that Ukraine and the European Union will not violate consensus about the postponement of the establishment of a free trade zone, and reserves the right to without delay respond to a failure to comply with this agreement.
