Ukraine twice reduced production of coal, informs

Such information leads the trade Union of workers of the coal industry referring to the information of the country. In September 2014 the coal-mining enterprises of Ukraine has reduced coal production doubled to 3, to 4 million tons in comparison with 6, 7 million tons in September 2013. At the state mines the country was extracted 608, 9 thousand tons of coal, 3, 3 times less than in September last year. It is also said that coal production in January-September 2014 decreased by 13% compared with the same period last year to 53, 4 million tons. Of this amount goahti produced fifteen, 354 million tons of coal, 12, 3% less than in 9 months of 2013.

UNIAN reminded about the fact that Ukraine for the first time over a long period will start to import thermal coal to meet the needs of thermal power plants, because to do it on their own today in practice impossible. The reason for this is the fighting in the East of the country where a large part of existing mines. About 47% of the electricity generated in Ukraine, generate nuclear power plants, the rest is produced by thermal power plants by burning gas and coal, and hydroelectric power generation and " green " energy.
