Yatseniuk: Ukraine cannot guarantee uninterrupted gas transit
Ukraine under the current transit contract shall in full force to ensure smooth pumping Russian gas to Europe, said on Thursday the Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

Naftogaz have said before about the fact that he had sent another complaint to the Stockholm arbitration court to " Gazprom ", this time on the revision of the transit contract.

" Ukraine declares that we, the state, which guarantees the uninterrupted transit of natural gas, but in order for this uninterrupted transit of natural gas to guarantee our European partners, we need to sign a contract with European companies, and we are ready for it, " - said Yatsenyuk opening the government meeting.

Naftogaz in claim requires a change in the methodology of calculation of the tariff for gas transit from Russia and assign compensation for the decrease in transit. The company offers to bring the method of calculating the transit rate in congruence with European standards and the provisions of the relevant energy and competition law of the EU and Ukraine.

The requirement to appoint a compensation for the reduction of the transit Company justifies the fact that the tariff for the transit of gas depends on the volume of transported gas. The minimum volume of gas that Gazprom is obliged to pump in Ukraine every year, is 110 billion cubic meters. Instead of the annual volume of transit in 2009-2013 was Usually 94 billion cubic meters, according to the report.

at the end of July Authorized Naftogaz said the Company had sent the Russian holding a letter with a petition for review of the transit contract. The head of the Ministry of energy of Ukraine Yuriy Sold at the beginning of October said that the current agreement does not meet the European legislation, the third energy package. However, the Head of the Ministry of energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak has repeatedly stated that the Russian Federation has no plans to review the agreement with Ukraine for gas transit to the EU.
