More than 70 thousand prisoners and persons detained in institutions of the State penitentiary service (Gpts) of Ukraine voted in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, the press service of the Ministry reported.

It is noted that the process of voting at special polling stations observed nearly 700 official observers, 86 authorized foreign countries and international organizations that visited the 33 institutions.

" Emergencies in subordinate penal institutions and remand centres in the voting period is not allowed, according to the report Gpts.

During the elections of national deputies of Ukraine at the polling stations at 48 institutions of the penitentiary system have been 156 correspondents from 78 media.
