SNRCU: Ukraine wants to join in WENRA
Ukraine wants to become a member of the Association of Western European regulatory authorities for nuclear safety WENRA, according to the appeal of the state nuclear regulatory Committee of Ukraine on Thursday.

" Let me take this opportunity to join you, Mr. leader, Deputy and dear commissioners member countries WENRA official statement concerning considering the possibility of providing Ukraine the status of a member of the Association, according to the statement of the head of the state nuclear regulatory Committee Sergey Bozhko in the management of WENRA.

The Commission underlines that the EU WENRA is one of the most important and the most active participants in the development of uniform standards for the regulation of nuclear and radiation safety in the EU, and creates rules for nuclear safety at the regional level.

Only in Ukraine there are four nuclear power plant, which is operated fifteen nuclear reactors, of which 13 VVER-1000 and two VVER-440, the total installed capacity of 13 835 MW. Ukraine is one of the largest in Europe NPP Zaporozhye, on which are six units.
