Research work: readers of e-books is worse at remembering stories
in a study conducted by a group of scientists under the leadership of Anna Mangan (Anne Mangen) from the Norwegian Stavangerske University, was attended by 50 students of approximately the same level of achievement.

fifty percent of the students read a 28-page story by Elizabeth George on paper,

the second fifty percent on the Kindle. Then participants were asked to place the 14 events, which were discussed in the story in the correct order." Readers Kindle showed much worse results than the Readers of the paper version ", -

says Anna Mangan. At the same time the level of empathy to the characters of the novel to the readers of the paper and electronic versions of the story was about the same.

According to the Norwegian academic, the problem may lie in the fact that the Kindle does not allow the user to physically turn the pages, thereby tracking the progress of reading. Physical page turn helps the reader to better track their own progress in reading of the text and, consequently, the development of the plot ".

however, in 2013 in Norway was carried out research work in the reader's habits 10th-graders. 72 students were allowed to read the same text on paper and in PDF version on the computer screen." Students who read the text on paper, is much better understood than those who read text on the screen," -

said Anna Mangan.
