WSJ: Europe is trying to prevent the expansion of Russian influence in the Balkans
In the last year and a half the first direction of the EU foreign policy was the so-called Eastern partnership project, in which the block is intended to make wider economic and political ties with Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, but because Moscow retains influence in the region, Europe has decided to revise the foreign desire in the direction of the Balkans, writes the print Edition.

the journal focuses on a recent visit to Bosnia head of European diplomacy Federici Mogherini and the European Commissioner on enlargement of Johaness Khan, where politicians tried to revive trapped in a dead end a few years ago conversations about integration of Bosnia in the European Union.

" The Balkans is a region where there is already developing integration processes and where Europe has clear prospects " - leads the printed words of an unnamed European policy.

Croatia and Slovenia are already members of the EU, Serbia and Montenegro are in the process of accession negotiations, and Albania and Macedonia as long as have " candidate " status, in preparation for the negotiation process, reminiscent of the WSJ.

in contrast, from the Ukraine and Georgia, the prospect of accession to the European block from the start extremely small, almost all the Balkan countries have the opportunity to embark on the path of European integration, the magazine writes. The high level of unemployment, corruption and a weak judicial systems are those factors that have the ability to push these countries to integrate into the European community.

" EU aid programme will be able to help the Balkan States.
