American scientists, based on studies of samples of sedimentary rocks, announced that 55 million years ago on Earth has happened to the global warming.

Experts from the Institute of Utah analyzed samples of sedimentary rocks, caught up in Wyoming, and checked that the current global warming, extremely similar to what has happened on our planet of 55.5 million years ago.

According to reliable information provided by the study, the process of global warming was held in 2 stages, each of which took 1.5 thousand years. In consequence of the melting of methane ice was released greenhouse gas, in consequence of which the average temperature of the planet has increased by 5-8 degrees Celsius, returning to their own normal only after 200 thousand years.

This caused the global extinction of animals and dire consequences for the biosphere. Today the situation is very identical with those events. Since 1900, the Earth's atmosphere each year is thrown up to 3 billion tons of greenhouse gas, which subsequently can lead to a truly frightening results.
