Moscow and St. Petersburg, compared with other domestic cities, took the top line in the rating of Russian regions for quality of life. Most regions maintain their position from last year.

Evaluation of regions was carried out on 61 parameter, which were combined into 10 groups. They should reflect the main nuances of life in the region, starting from the level of earnings of population and housing until the level of financial development, environmental and climatic conditions.

The only negative aspect that will adversely affect the condition of life in both capitals amid other regions, taking into account the opinion of experts, is considered ecology, RIA Novosti reported. Apart from Moscow and St. Petersburg in the first 10 regions with more comfortable living conditions became the Capital region, Republic of Tatarstan, Krasnodar Krai, Belgorod, Voronezh, Tyumen, Nizhny Novgorod and Sverdlovsk region.
