Yatsenyuk tried to convince the Germans to invest in the Ukrainian gas transportation system
Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk tried to convince European investors to invest in Ukraine's gas transit system.

" I would like to encourage European companies, which according to Ukrainian laws have the ability to invest and to buy up to 49% of our pipeline systems to invest. We will be happy if German investors will come to us, " said Yatsenyuk reporters in Berlin on Thursday following the meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel.

the head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko 8 September 2014 signed a law allowing the government to make the operator GTS countries, in which up to 49% will be able to get investors from the US and the EU.

The document leaves the GTS and storage underground gas in state ownership, but allows to pass them in the specially created companies. In still managing companies, the government will get a controlling stake, and the remaining shares will be able to purchase organizations from Europe and the USA.

The document also provides that the operator will have the right to manage and/or concession or lease of gas pipelines and underground storage facilities. In addition, the law allows the government of Ukraine to make a separate operator's underground gas storage facilities, in which American and European investors will also be able to get up to 49%.
