Opposing political force in the Parliament demanded to ratify the Rome Statute of the ICC
Opposing political force in the Ukrainian Parliament calls on the Ukrainian authorities to ratify the Rome Statute of the international criminal court (ICC) for an honest investigation into the death of civilians Donbass, because of a belief in the objectivity of Kyiv, said on Wednesday the people's choice faction, "the Opposition bloc" Mikhail Papiev.

The Rome Statute, which entered into force in 2002, is the basis of the activities of the ICC. Currently in Ukraine, as well as a number of other countries which have not ratified the Statute, the jurisdiction of the international justice does not apply. In April 2014 the government of Ukraine recommended the Parliament to urgently ratify the statutes of the ICC (Rome Statute), which was signed in 2000. International human rights organization Amnesty international above was also applied to Parliament of the new convocation to approve the Charter petition for a more effective investigation of crimes in the Donbass. However, to date relevant document was not considered by the Ukrainian Parliament.
