Russian machine LEND on Board the American LRO probe has revealed that the edges of craters directed towards the poles of the moon, contain more water than the slopes of the craters are directed towards the equator. This makes them more attractive for the construction of lunar bases.

Mcclanahan and his colleagues, including the Russian developer of the instrument LEND Igor Mitrofanov reached these conclusions by studying data on the distribution of water on the satellite of our planet. The planetary community recognize that the difference in the concentration of water between the Northern and southern slopes of the craters are extremely small - 23 parts per million.
