Scientists named the best place for a lunar base Researchers have found on the moon places with water, which rather suited for the construction of lunar bases. Russian LEND apparatus is unable to detect where the lunar craters more than just water.

Russian machine LEND on Board the American LRO probe has revealed that the edges of craters directed towards the poles of the moon, contain more water than the slopes of the craters are directed towards the equator. This makes them more attractive for the construction of lunar bases.

"Of course, the amount of water that we find in most wet craters on the moon, in times less than its concentration in the Sands of the driest desert on Earth. However, given the resolution of our instruments, it is entirely possible that the water is concentrated in a relatively small point in the interior of the crater, and its portion in the times higher" - quoted by NASA researcher Tim Mcclanahan.

Mcclanahan and his colleagues, including the Russian developer of the instrument LEND Igor Mitrofanov reached these conclusions by studying data on the distribution of water on the satellite of our planet. The planetary community recognize that the difference in the concentration of water between the Northern and southern slopes of the craters are extremely small - 23 parts per million. But it can hide behind huge quantities of water, since the LEND is not designed to establish such reserves of ice and moisture.

As wrote earlier Days.Roux, program development natural satellite of the Earth is expected to be complete in three stages by 2040. The main manned flight of the new Russian spacecraft to the moon scheduled for 2028. Rocket and space Association "Energy" before the flight to the moon planned tests in earth orbit that will take place in 2024. The entire program of lunar exploration for up to 2040.
