The draft law on the protection of the authority of the country withdrawn from Parliament
National partner, member of the parliamentary faction of the "Popular front" Konstantin Matacena withdrew from the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine controversial draft law on introducing changes in the criminal rule regarding protection authority of the country, informs the press service of his party on the first day of the week.

before the people's choice, Matacena introduced to the Parliament a draft law on introducing changes in the criminal rule of the Ukraine, where he made the initiative to amend the criminal code article " Intentional action in respect of undermining the credibility of the country and its authorities." This article identifies and qualifies the crime of actions aimed at undermining the authority of the country and its authorities. The initiative has aroused the indignation of the public, because, according to their vision, the project de facto introduces censorship opponents of the authorities, individual bureaucrats and political parties, and if adopted, it will have the opportunity to apply to prosecute the media.

As told on the first day of the week in the press service of the party " national front ", Matacena believes that brought them before the project incorrectly prescribed norm, which can be interpreted in two ways. As stated by the people's choice, he was not offered criminal retribution for any criticism of the government, the purpose was punishment for the desecration of state symbols.

"Matacena remembered with the situation in the East of Ukraine, where it is the desecration of state symbols encouraged and continues to encourage separatist processes in societies ", - informs the press service of his party.

In the party stressed that the position of the Popular front and its leader, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk is that the legislative activity of people's deputies and the government should meet the European standards and international standards, which are based on the principles of democracy, humanism and respect for human rights and freedoms ".
