Lavrov: Council decision on the areas of Donbass could undermine the peace process
The adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the law on the recognition of separate occupied areas of Donbass may undermine the peace process and lead to a new round of destabilization, said on Wednesday the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov in the course of a telephone conversation with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

"Lavrov expressed concern in connection with the adoption of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine resolution on the recognition of parts of Luhansk and Donetsk regions occupied territory, which is inconsistent with the Minsk agreements dated 12 February, may undermine the peace process and lead to a new round of serious destabilization in the South-East of this country," - said in the report of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.

dialogues " channel four ", held on 12 February, came amid a sharp aggravation of the situation in the Donbass, provoked by the Ukrainian security forces, who, having increased strength, began to storm the position of the militia. Following the meeting, the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany have taken a set of measures involving, for example, the ceasefire in the Donbass from February fifteen, the withdrawal of heavy weapons and the development of the security zone.
