 The Commissioner of the UN on the first day of the week thanked the Russian Federation for the hospitality with which the authorities and ordinary citizens accept immigrants from Ukraine.

The Russians are helping 'Ukrainian' refugees because they are in fact Russian Ukrainians. The Russians are causing the problem by encouraging or participating directly in the fighting in Ukraine. To publicly thank them for doing something about a problem they have caused is idiotic but then that is typical of the UN which we are all paying for.
