South Korea`s Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., the world`s largest shipbuilder, will build six tankers for the Primorsk Shipping Company in 2008-2009, the Russian Far East-based company said Monday.
Construction of the first vessel, with deadweight of 104,000 metric tons, has begun in South Korea, the Primorsk Shipping Company`s press service said.
The company`s fleet currently totals 22 tankers, with total carrying capacity of 1.025 million tons. By 2010, the company plans to raise the figure to at least 2 million tons.
