Poland will send to Ukraine contingent of police to assist in the reforms
The Council of Ministers of Poland decided to send to Ukraine a law enforcement officer is contingent to participate in the Advisory mission of the European Union on the reform of the civilian security sector.
Decision on Tuesday, informs the Polish news Agency PAP. First in February was posted on the project of the corresponding decision of the government of Poland. It noted that the narrative is a maximum of About 10 officers or the police.
"The purpose of the mission is to support the reform of the civilian security sector in Ukraine, and among them the reform of the police. The mission will consist in providing any assistance in creating a conceptual framework for planning and implementation of security sector reform and changes in the structure and restructuring of the security services ", - was stated in the explanatory Memorandum.
It was also noted that Polish law enforcement officer is contingent on Ukraine will not be armed and will be subordinate to the Council of the European Union.
at the end of September, the EU agreed on the principles of work of the Advisory mission on the reform of the civilian security sector (EUAM) in Ukraine. Mission with headquarters in Kiev was launched on 1 December 2014 for a term of two years. Europeans will advise Ukraine, the development of new security strategies and implementation of reforms of the law enforcement sector, coordinating with the OSCE and other partners. The EU on 22 July last year provided nearly 2, 7 million euros for four months starting phase of the mission.
