LUKoil is planning to take part in developing three hydrocarbon fields in Turkmenistan on a parity basis with the US-based company ConocoPhillips, the Russian oil giant`s President Vagit Alekperov told journalists.
According to his statement, the companies` stakes in this project will amount to 50%. Alekperov expressed hope that negotiations with Turkmenistan`s Oil Ministry would be completed by the end of 2007, after which a corresponding contract will be signed. The LUKoil chief executive also specified that the deal was related to the development of three prospective offshore fields in the Caspian Sea.
