The head of the NBU and the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine will go to the summit of " Eastern partnership "
The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko and the head of National Bank Valeria Gontareva will go to the Summit of "Eastern partnership" in Riga, which will sign a Memorandum on the provision of the 3rd package of macro-financial assistance from the EU, informs the press service of the EU delegation in Ukraine.
The summit, which will be held in Riga on 21-22 may, involves the signing of a Memorandum of understanding between the EU and Ukraine regarding the provision of macro-financial assistance. The summit will be headed by the head of the European Council Donald Tusk.
"During the summit, Vice-President of the European Commission Mr (Valdis) Dombrovskis will sign a Memorandum of understanding in respect of the last (third) macro-financial assistance package from the EU to Ukraine in the amount of 1, 8 billion euros together with Ukrainian representatives, Finance Minister Natalie Jaresko and Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontareva ", - is informed in the report.
The EU in April blessed the allocation of Ukraine of the 3rd package of macro-financial support at 1, 8 billion euros. These funds will be transferred to Kiev in 2015 and 2016 in three equal parts.
The program "Eastern partnership" includes political Association and economic integration of the EU with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. The last 3 countries last year signed the Treaty on the Union with the EU.
