Nine people died and another nine were injured after a minibus collided with a train in central China`s Hubei Province, Xinhua has reported.
The incident occurred on Tuesday night on the Changjing Railway, the news agency said citing local authorities. Four of the injured are in a critical health condition.
No train passengers were injured during the crash. An investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway.
Xinhua said the minibus was attempting to cross a pedestrian intersection that was off-limits to vehicles when the crash occurred.
At least 100,000 people die in road accidents in China each year.
