The state Council of Crimea wishes to consider the initiative to abolish the compulsory notification of the presence of the 2nd citizenship for residents of Crimea. The authors of the changes in Federal law were made by Deputy head of the regional Parliament Andrey Kozenko and the people's Deputy Sergey Trofimov.

"I support (the initiative of deputies) with 2 hands. The procedure should be very simple. Must be the most simple procedure for notification of bodies of the FMS, for example, in writing. The citizens do not have to stand in lines. Most have relatives in the Ukraine, someone has property. No one is required to take a Ukrainian passport, " - said Aksenov.
The initiators of changes in the legislation do not offer to apply it relative to the Crimeans. The document once passed by the Crimean Parliament will be forwarded for consideration to the Supreme legislative body of the Russian Federation. As explained by one of the authors of the proposal, Andrey Kozenko, use current rules of the nationality act will lead to the fact that the authorities of the FMS in Crimea " for the day will be required to handle 30 thousand notifications, which again will steadily lead to large queues and discontent of residents of the Republic of Crimea ".
Issuing passports of the Russian Federation, residents of Crimea has been completed by the end of 2014. Documents On citizenship of the Russian Federation received more than half a million of the Crimean people, and the surrender of Ukrainian passports in the FMS was not required. The renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship is required only for the Crimean people employed in the civil service working in law enforcement and the judiciary.
