Russia has criticized the accession of Montenegro to NATO
Russian politicians commented on the expansion of NATO in the result of the accession of Montenegro. They are of the opinion that it will upset relations with Moscow.

Russian politicians have criticized the accession of Montenegro to NATO. So a member of the Russian delegation to the parliamentary Assembly Andrey Krasov believes that the West wants to make Montenegro more manageable.

"...to draw in the NATO Alliance, to base or any weapons on her surroundings and managed to make it through a military campaign, such as NATO, to make a doll that is controlled by Washington," he said. The diplomat stressed that the Union is getting closer to Russian borders.

"Based on the belief of collective security in Europe, from the point of view of unification in the face of the latest challenges and dangers of any expansion of NATO is not a step forward and a step back," - said the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev. According to his statement, the population of Montenegro there is no consensus regarding the connection to the unit, however this decision was imposed on them by the authorities.

"This position imposes on the population the current management of Montenegro. The same thing happened in Georgia when Mikhail Saakashvili, Ukraine under Viktor Yushchenko. And where is the control?", the Senator emphasized.

1st Deputy head of the international Committee of the state Duma Leonid Kalashnikov has declared that relations of Russia and Montenegro will change with the entry powers in the Alliance. "As the block builds, as if mildly, not a very friendly policy towards Russia, and Russia is obligated to provide, even Executive power," he said.

The Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on defense and security Viktor Ozerov expressed a similar position. According to his statement, a number of projects, even military, will be incredible after the accession of Montenegro to NATO.

Vice-speaker of the state Duma Nikolay Levichev has declared that Montenegro will be left without domestic investments, which previously were "very significant". The MP, indicating that this power does not have its own currency, stressed that it was difficult to expect a different decision from a dependent state.

Together with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stressed that the decision on the accession of Montenegro to the Alliance is not aimed against Russia. The view was also expressed that the 3rd party has no right to interfere in the decision of a sovereign country.

Recall, December 2, Montenegro received an invitation from the Alliance on accession. Stoltenberg called the decision historic.
