In California, the raging of the fire, which has never been seen before. The flames raced up and down the canyons instantly engulfing homes and forcing thousands to flee, said one of the firefighters.
On Wednesday, the fire got out of control and spread to 47 square miles. The flames had progressed despite the efforts of 1300 firefighters. Authorities could not immediately say how many homes were destroyed, but they warn that the number will be big.
