At least two people were killed after tornadoes swept through the Central US on Tuesday. One person was killed in Ottawa, Illinois.
The press Secretary of the emergency management Agency in Illinois, said that the victim died because of a fallen tree. One person was killed when a tornado struck the Perry, Missouri, about 80 miles South of St. Louis. Eight to 10 homes near the small town of Perryville was badly damaged and the winds were so strong that several cars were overturned.
A storm system poses a threat to 45 million people. Severe storms pass through the Central part of the United States. Wind forest fires have destroyed homes in Texas. Forecasters were especially concerned that the worst of the weather conditions happens after dark and was afraid that a tornado will last all night and hit the community at a time when people are sleeping.
While the weather conditions tend to improve after dark, as the atmosphere cools, Center prediction storm issued a tornado watch Tuesday evening in areas from Eastern Kansas and Oklahoma, near the city of Cincinnati. He warned that a significant tornado with winds above 111 miles per hour is impossible until 4am Central time.
Strong winds in other places on the plains, widespread forest fires in Texas. Four houses were destroyed, about 50 miles South of Amarillo, before firefighters managed to beat the flames. The representative of the forest service Phillip Truitt said the fire will be evacuated nearly 1,200 homes.
