The Governor General of Canada helped the British Queen Elizabeth down the stairs and eventually broke Royal Protocol by touching the elbow of the monarch.
David Johnston, the Queen's representative in Canada, said he is concerned that the monarch "stumbles" during a visit to Canada House in London on Wednesday. "Of course, I am aware of the Protocol," said David Johnston in an interview with CNN partner CBC News after a visit to mark the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation. "I just wanted to make sure that Queen Elizabeth will not stumble on the stairs."
"A little bit uncomfortable that during the descent from the Canadian house to Trafalgar square was the carpet which was a bit slippery, and so I thought that perhaps it would be wise to forget about the Protocol to be sure that the Queen will not stumble", - he explained.
