Kanye West sues notorious rap mogul Suge Knight
Former head of notorious rap label Death Row records, Marion `Suge` Knight, has launched a lawsuit and is expected to seek damages of over $1 million against Kanye and the owners of the Shore Club in Miami, Florida, where he was shot in the leg in 2005.

The incident happened when a still unknown assailant opened fire at the party - which was hosted by Kanye ahead of that year?s MTV awards - and one of his shots hit Suge, shattering the femur bone in his right leg.

The rap entrepreneur claims Kanye and organisers of the party had failed to provide adequate security enough to keep people with guns out of the party.

Suge`s lawyer, Marc Brumer, said: "He`s an icon in the music industry. He walks in a room and he lights it up. He had an expectation of security there. How someone came with a gun into a very VIP party; that just doesn`t meet the smell test in life."

Among the damages sought by Suge are $200,000 in medical bills and compensation for a 15-carat diamond earring, which Suge said is worth $135,000 and was lost in the furore following the shooting.

Both Kanye and the owners of the Shore club deny the allegations.

The lawsuit has taken so long to surface as it was originally included in a filing in 2006 in Los Angeles by Suge but the club owners successfully petitioned for it to be moved to federal court and transferred from Los Angeles to Miami.

A Florida judge has set a court date of December 6 for the trial.

Tom Meighan wants to set politicians on fire.

The Kasabian frontman admits he would be horrified if the British Conservative political party approached his group and asked to use one of their songs in their election campaign.

He said: "They`re f**king horrible. I`d set fire to them. I?d just set fire to the f**kers. I mean, they?re just horrible. I would actually set fire to them. Every single one of them, one by one."

Despite their reluctance to get involved in politics, the rockers insist that people should still write politically motivated songs.

Tom added to NME magazine: "If you`re into politics I?m all for it. Or if you wanna write a song about a girl you love, write about that. Or if you wanna write about f***ing taking acid, then do that. If doesn?t matter as long as you actually know what you?re going on about."

Tom`s bandmate Serge Pizzorno also gave his advice for young bands, adding: "Tunes is all you need. It really is. It?s not about aesthetics."
