The state Duma approved the law about criminal liability for refusing to hire people close to retirement age
The state Duma adopted in the 3rd and final reading a presidential Bill on the punishment of denial of employment to citizens of pensionable age.
the draft law provides for criminal liability for refusal to accept for employment or unreasonable dismissal of people of retirement age. It is punishable by a fine up to 200 thousand Rubles. or compulsory work up to 360 hours.
Under pensionable age refers to the period up to five years before retirement.
in the explanatory paper to the document it is reported that it is aimed at achievement of target indicators of long-term development Strategy of the pension system, and among them is its balance and long-term financial sustainability.
As noted by the speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, the state Duma ought to " do everything for the working man, a citizen of pre-retirement age have been protected."
