Medvedev dismissed the head of the Federal tourism Agency
Prime Minister Medvedev D. A. signed a decree on the release of Oleg Safonov, the head of the Federal tourism Agency.
The head of government took the decision after talks with Deputy Prime Ministers. At the meeting, Medvedev emphasized the need for the development of tourism in Russia to prioritize and effectively manage the funds.
The Prime Minister instructed the government office to prepare proposals on personnel to strengthen the work in this area.
Safonov was the head of Federal Agency on tourism from may 2014, first as acting, and from January 2015 a full Head of Agency.
according to the worldwide tourism organization, Russia occupies one of leading places in the world in the field of international tourism. So, for 2017, the country hosted more than 24 million foreign visitors, became the ninth figure in the European Union and brought almost 540 billion rubles to the budget of the country.
along with this Association underscore the growing number of Russian citizens vacationing abroad as well and because of the inconsistency of the quality of tourist services in the homeland of their value.
the business community is reminded that the government has a systematic policy to improve the situation: restored and developed resorts of the Crimea, created a unique sports and health infrastructure, increasing the oversight activities of tourism organizations, provided training of tourism workers.
