U.S. military Aircraft conducted an Observation flight over the territory of Russia during the open skies Treaty. About it informs the monitoring resource PlaneRadar on Twitter.
Observation Plane USAF Boeing OC-135B Open Skies with the hull number 61-2670 recorded in the area of action of the receivers of the cities of Anadyr and Pevek in the Chukotka Autonomous district at a height of eleven 2 km.
The Boeing OC-135B is not intended for use of weapons. The aircraft has passed the international examination with the participation of the Russian capital, which excludes the use of technology, not specified in the contract. Before similar flights over the territory of Russia, this Aircraft flew eleven, 13 and 14 March.
The Treaty on open skies was signed by OSCE member States in 1992 and became one of the measures for strengthening confidence in the European Union after the cold war. According to the document, countries are able to conduct reconnaissance flights over the territory of other member States and to collect data on their troops. The contract is valid from 2002, it includes the vast majority of NATO countries, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and neutral Sweden and Finland.
