"Gazprom" has filed an appeal against the Decision of the Stockholm arbitration to reduce the contract price for gas supplied to Poland, said the Firm PGNiG.
at the end of March the capital of Poland said that the court supported the Polish side and changed the pricing formula because of its direct connection with the quotations on the European market. The decision applies to deliveries from January 1, 2014.
PGNiG also said that he could return half a billion dollars.
in April, the Polish Firm said that "Gazprom" will be billed for gas on the old terms, but then adjusted them, taking into account the opinion of the arbitration.
Gazprom, for its part, reported that studying the Decision and called it premature for any assessment of amounts of possible winnings.
"The Yamal Contract" from 1996 provides for the delivery to Poland of up to ten billion cubic meters of gas from Russia per year. The contract is valid until 2022. In 2012 the gas price for Poland under the contract reduced by ten %. In 2015, PGNiG filed a lawsuit in the Stockholm arbitration court on the new lower cost, motivating it with that value does not match the state of the market.
