Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin said that good conditions of life in the far East required an efficient system of energy supply, and electricity prices must be affordable.
The Prime Minister asked in persistent form to avoid jumps of the prices for electricity and ordered the Ministry of energy until September 1 to submit to the government a draft law on the electricity tariffs in the far Eastern Federal district.
For Yakutia, Chukotka, Kamchatka, Magadan and Sakhalin regions in 2017 introduced a tariff equalisation Mechanism for electricity with the national average. Currently, tariffs in the region are subsidized through price premiums power customers of the wholesale electricity market of the European part of Russia, Ural and Siberia.
The tariff equalisation mechanism is valid until the end of 2020 and applies to all clients, except for residents, the rates For which are always lower. Now we expect to extend the mechanism until 2028, with some adjustments.
The energy Ministry proposed to limit the number of customers who will be the alignment of tariffs. It is expected that the alignment will not affect customers who are financed by budgets of all levels.
