A total of 1.33 million people visited the Shanghai World Expo on Saturday, the largest number since the opening of the exhibition May 1, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported.
Sunday failed to break the newly established record with only 745,000 visitors registered.
This year`s exhibiton has attracted more visitors than any other, whith over 65.4 million people flocking to the event since May.
The previous record of about 64 million visitors over a six-month period was set at the 1970 Osaka World Expo in Japan.
The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Over 200 states, corporations and international organizations are taking part.
