Russia`s federal target program to develop education in 2011-2015 will be considered at a meeting of the government presidium Thursday.
Education and Science Minister Andrei Fursenko will be the key rapporteur.
The new program`s key tasks are to upgrade the system of general and preschool education, bring professional education and training in line with the labor market demands, and develop a system to assess the quality of education.
Earlier Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said 157 billion rubles ($5.1bn) will be allocated to the program.
