Madonna`s Material Girl goes international

The 52-year-old singer launched her Material Girl range - which is aimed at teenage girls - earlier this year and while it was only initially available at US department store Macy`s it can now be bought at several Hudson Bay Company retail locations throughout Canada.

Chief Merchandising Officer of Iconix, Lanie List, said: "The creation and launch of the Material Girl brand was a success in the United States and we are thrilled to expand into Canada. HBC is the premier retailer in Canada and we are pleased to partner with them on this exciting expansion endeavour. This is the first in a series of new partnerships we plan on announcing for MG Icon properties."

Madonna worked on the Material Girl line with her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes and admitted the youngster brought much of her own personal style to the collection.

She revealed: "I think this line is absolutely an extension of her taste.

"We like to combine a plaid or a flannel with a lace or leather with lace or rhinestones. So we mix and match textures and fabrics and elements that are both masculine and feminine."
